Formats Regardless of project circumstances or contract structure chosen, Performance Driven Construction motivates the entrepreneurial spirit to find ways to do it safer, better, faster and cheaper. This motivation is driven through properly aligned incentives that position the participants for financial risk, and reward, for performance in their respective impact areas. Traditional lump sum contracting strategies may be the proper contract format when supported by thorough engineering, definitive work scope, and adequate bid cycle time. Performance Driven Construction methods excel under these circumstances and provide us an inherent competitive advantage due to our highly developed work processes and project execution strategies. Productivity incentives are inherent in bottom line savings opportunities while additional incentives are commonly offered to provide focus on safety, quality or schedule objectives. When project circumstances don’t support firm price contracts, owners often turn to traditional cost reimbursable strategies that provide contractors with fee and profits based on a percentage of project cost which inherently reward poor performance by incentivizing higher project costs. Alternately, our reimbursable Performance Driven Construction contracts place fee at risk for performance thus rewarding cost savings and aligning project objectives. Contractor incentives are strategically used to drive and reward superior performance in project sensitive areas. |
