Specific responsibilities include:
Planning - Develop site execution strategy including resource deployment plans to achieve project objectives. Perform active role in maintaining project schedules, staffing plans, craft resource plans, and daily work execution plans.
Execution - Oversee all site employees. Provide guidance and clear communication through subordinate managers to ensure site activities are performed safely, efficiently and in a quality manner. Ensure that corporate values, project rules and procedures are enforced and maintained consistently across all disciplines and organizational levels. Monitor safety, quality, schedule and cost performance and make adjustments as required.
Leadership - Professionally represent Cherne Contracting at all times and in all actions. Clearly communicate expectations to all staff and craft employees and provide consistant, impartial decision making in every management activity. Develop and maintain respectful working relationships with client, engineer, organized labor and subcontractor representatives.

Education
We look for a BA in Construction Management or equivalent experience and technical training.

Experience
We generally recruit our site managers from among our existing staff or from craft personnel who have significant experience working for us in other capacities. We will consider outside candidates with directly related experience in similar industrial construction projects. A minimum of 15 years of industrial construction experience is needed, with at least eight years of increasingly responsible management positions. Experience in all disciplines of construction that we perform is preferred, i.e. piping, civil/structural, electrical and instrumentation.
