Safety
Professionals
Our projects are staffed with safety professionals such as medics,
safety engineers and site safety managers who are responsible for implementing
and managing our site safety programs. Safety professional candidates must have strong technical and
interpersonal skills.
Specific responsibilities
include: |

Planning -
Prepare and maintain project specific safety, health and
environmental procedures and protocols.

Prevention
- Proactively work to prevent accidents by conducting effective
staff and craft training, and maintaining project wide focus on safe
work practices. Serve as focal point for STOP program and on-site
substance abuse program.

Monitoring - Conduct
regular site safety and environmental inspections and audits to ensure that all
safety and environmental procedures are properly implemented throughout the
jobsite. Implement effective corrective action when problems are discovered.

Follow-up - Treat
injuries, transport to medical facility if needed, and assist in managing
workers compensation and OSHA cases. Conduct investigations of accidents and near miss incidents and
implement effective corrective action to prevent reoccurrence.

Education
For safety engineer and manager positions, we
look for a four-year Occupational Safety/Engineering degree or equivalent
experience and technical training.
For Medic positions, we look for EMT,
first aid and CPR trainer certifications.
Experience
Safety Manager:
Seven years of safety experience with at least three
years of on-site industrial construction experience.
Safety Engineer:
Two years of on-site industrial construction safety
experience.
The above positions require good written and oral communication
skills, knowledge of and ability to enforce all applicable regulations, and
familiarity with safety and environmental monitoring equipment.
Medic:
At least one year of experience in advanced emergency
medical care. Advanced knowledge of
rescue, first aid, medications, and medical care procedures, as well as
familiarity with construction safety practices and requirements.
