CENTRAL PENNSYLVANIA MAINLINE COMPRESSOR STATION

Hegins, Pennsylvania

Cherne Contracting Corporation was contracted to engineer, procure, construct and commission a greenfield 31,000-horsepower compressor station. The new facility will help the client expand its gas transmission capacity to meet growing demand along the Atlantic Seaboard. This mainline compressor station is part of a larger project that will provide energy to serve approximately 2.5 million homes.

Cherne’s scope included installing a Solar Titan 250 turbine-driven compressor along with all associated auxiliary systems, including a compressor building, power distribution center, standby generator, air compressor package, hydrocarbon liquids and oily water storage, blowdown silencers, instrumentation and gas treating equipment.
